Do you want to make money writing poetry? You're not alone. There are tons of would be poets out there that have amazing skills, but just don't know how to make money writing poetry. I was in the same boat, I love writing poetry but I couldn't see a way to really gain income from it. Well, I did a bunch of research and found out that you actually can. You just have to know where to look. I put together a list to help my fellow poets get paid. Enjoy, and soon you'll be able to make money writing poetry.

Poetry Foundation
- Payment is $10 per line with a minimum payout of $300 plus you will receive 2 contributor copies of the issue your work was in
- Does not accept work previously published
- Accepts submissions all year long
- All rights revert back to author upon publication
- Can submit work online or through the mail
- Response time is usually 6-8 weeks

- Payment is $20 per poem
- They are looking for Science Fiction, fantasy, horror, and slipstream poetry
- They advise against rhyming poetry
- Prefer poems under 100 lines
- Buy first printing world exclusive rights for 2 months after that you can republish somewhere else

- Payment is $200 per poem
- Does not accept work previously published
- Prefer poems 100 lines or less
- They do not read submissions from July to December - work sent during these periods will be unread and discarded
